Mark Ishkanian holds a Bachelors from Macquarie University and a Diploma of Financial Planning from Kaplan Business School in Australia. He holds Series 63 and 65 licenses. Mr. Ishkanian has a wide range of experience in managing portfolios and specializes in assisting clients with precious metals equities and alternative assets and has been serving the financial services industry since 2014, and Adrian Day Asset Management since 2025. He holds a black belt in Aikido under Saburo Takayasu Sensei Shihan and a third-dan black belt in Taekwondo under Grandmaster Whang but spends most of his free time at the beach in Puerto Rico with his dog.
Karen Anderes has served Adrian Day Asset Management since 1998, primarily as assistant to Adrian Day and fulfilling various operational needs, eventually undertaking the oversight of operations, ensuring efficiency, stability, and execution across all aspects of the business. In addition, she continues to work alongside Ms. Schlegel to ensure clients’ needs are met. Mrs. Anderes has a B.A. from University of Maryland. After hours, she enjoys spending time with her family, woodworking, organic produce gardening, and in athletic pursuits including biking, skiing, golfing, tennis/pickleball and running.
Cyndi Schlegel has been an integral part of the team since 2003 and has enjoyed developing relationships with our valued clients throughout the years. She enjoys handling all aspects of client account setup, changes, and private placement paperwork as well as researching and responding to client inquires. She communicates with brokerage firms on clients’ behalf and assists the Operations Department. Residing in sunny Florida, she delights in the water, boating, gardening, crafts and time with family and friends.
Prior to working with Adrian Day Asset Management starting in 2019, Rafael Santiago was an Investment Analyst for the Liberty Group, a hotel and real estate investment company. He also worked as an Economic Analyst for Puerto Rico’s largest media company GFR Media. Mr. Santiago holds two Masters Degrees in Economics and Finance, with a specialization in Monetary Policy and Banking. After hours, he enjoys basketball, baseball and tennis as well as travel, films and the beautiful Puerto Rican beaches.
Shay Kumar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Information Systems from Loyola University Maryland. Prior to working with Adrian Day Asset Management beginning in 2024, his professional background centered on private banking, technology implementation, and wealth management, honed through roles at esteemed firms such as Morgan Stanley, First Republic, and J.P. Morgan. Currently residing in Puerto Rico, Mr. Kumar dedicates his leisure time to music production, aquatic sports, gaming and beach activities.
Leila Quiles joined Adrian Day Asset Management in 2026 as an Operations Assistant, providing administrative and operational support across a variety of business functions. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in correctional healthcare administration, where she coordinated operational processes and supported multidisciplinary teams. Ms. Quiles holds an MBA in Project Management, an MBA in Digital Marketing, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Emily Day began providing administrative support to the Operations Department in 2018. She holds a Bachelors from University of Mary Washington and a Masters from North Carolina Central University. Additionally, a lifelong horsewoman, Ms. Day resides with her husband on a Virginia farm, where she cares for her three horses and six cats.
